Le Zattere dei Sentimenti

A sentimental journey; an affectionate gesture dedicated to someone; a shipwreck denoting the impossibility of expressing, of completing this gesture; rafts as unexpected salvation, renewed chance of completing the journey, of enabling the gesture to reach its destination. Three wooden tables, each of which bears the signs of a break, are the rafts to cling on to. Hands can be made out at the edge of the tables, trying to lift the body they belong to up onto the table, to safety. The public, by touching the tables in different ways, can either help and/or hinder the shipwreck victims’ in their attempt to save themselves and climb aboard the raft. And in so doing, the spectator can accept or reject the possibility of completing his or her own sentimental journey.
